About the Canadian Army Wife blog

This blog is entirely my own – my own opinions and my own views about military life. I started this blog when I realized that many of my family members, friends and co-workers really didn’t know much about what military life was like from the inside. It is NOT at all like what you hear about in the media.

About Me
Canadian Army Wife
I am originally from Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I met my husband, a Canadian soldier, on a blind date in 1990. It was a marvelous date because we got engaged 2 months later and were married within 18 months. We’ve moved nine times since 1990, lived all across Canada, and currently live in the United Kingdom with our two lovely children.

“Change is the essential process of all existence.” – Spock, “Let That Be Your Last Battlefield”, Stardate 5730.2

My favourite sports are horseback riding, swimming, cycling and hiking (non-competitive). I’m a big Star Trek fan and Star Wars too – and pretty much all sci-fi. I love music and enjoy quoting song lyrics with all my Twitter friends. I get a thrill from my MacBook and iPhone every single time I use them.

“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” – George Bernard Shaw

I hold a Masters degree in Food Chemistry from the University of Guelph. I have worked in a library, a pharmacy, two research centres and multi-national manufacturing facilities. I managed my own business as a professional organizer and productivity consultant for almost 10 years. I am fully bilingual in English and French.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” ― Apple Inc.
